And She Was

How did I get here?
Well, our move to the new house was a success. It wasn't quite as stressful as I had imagined thanks to those little pink pills that the doctor gave me "for emergencies."
So what is the first thing that you should unpack when you move to a new place?
That's correct: The Wine Glasses!
Would you like a glass of white or red?
The chives found a new hangout.
They really like it here.
Gawd, I have a Lot of STUFF!!
Unpacked this cute little trio of bird doorstops.
Here's a pretty purple tree in my new neighborhood. It's not in my yard, unfortunately, but it is close to the take-out taco place. So I will get to visit it frequently...very frequently.
It is Agapanthus season. Lovely.
Here is my Teapot Collection.
It was all wrapped up in newspaper for years and years with only a few casualties.
Some of these things have not seen the light of day since 1998!
Here's a real antique.
 Most kids get trophies for something impressive like swimming or soccer or tennis. I got one for dressing up and acting silly. Some things never change.
Isn't this a scary plant? I'm not sure what it is but it's in my backyard. I think it might be a Blackbird of Paradise.
Here is Pancake standing guard over the laundry. We don't have a washer or dryer hooked up yet so I'm doing laundry by hand like a good pioneer woman. It really does smell nice when you hang it outside though, doesn't it?
Here's the living room so far. I think it has lots of potential, don't you? I'm taking decorating tips from this blog mainly because I just love the name:
What a long day. Wheh!  Soaking my tired wonky feet to test out the new bathtub.
I'm going to sit up a little bit so you can check out my bib overalls. They are vintage just like me. I bought them in the 1980's at the Gap on Broadway in New York City. They have seen me through two pregnancies, many moves, several beer parties and numerous "fat days." I just Love them.
In fact this whole outfit is exactly something I wore in the 80's including the bandana.
(I know I look like a hillbilly but I don't play the banjo. It belongs to my son.)
Isn't this bandana cute? London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Rome! Hmmm... I can't remember where I got it. That's what happens when you get old. You forget stuff.
Did you know that overalls are trending? It's true! Check it out HERE.
See? If you keep things long enough....
This is probably what I was listening to when I first wore these overalls.
~~~~~~~
Thank you so much for coming along on the tour of my new house!
Please Stop by Again SOON!!
  1. I love that you got awards for dressing up and acting silly! And those overalls and bandana are certainly classic. Wish I had kept my overalls too. Your new living room is gorgeous but I can't wait to see how you decorate from that excellently-named blog. LOL. Glad you've survived!
  2. Hi Connie, you look fab in your denim overalls. You are right, the denim overalls are still trending right now. I am glad your move went well.. I remember seeing so many agapanthus in California. They are beautiful flowers. Pancake looks so at home and looks so protective. I hope things go well in your new house.
  3. Congratulations on being almost done (yeah, right)! I think you brought your furniture into my living room! Seriously, that's my fireplace and windows and paint. My furniture is much more, how shall we say, frumpy.
    Love the teapots! I left some china packed up at my parents' house while I lived in Britain for 10 years. It's nice to see the dishes again, and the old newspapers.
  4. Well done, Superior Thespian, you made it! Next time I move I shall remember that valuable advice about the wine glasses. Now that you say it, it makes perfect sense. Glad you are getting settled and rediscovering all your treasures. I love your dungarees. xxx
  7. A glass or several of wine makes everything bearable - or maybe it was the little pink pills...
    Congratulations on your successful move, Connie! Look how pretty you are in your dungarees and bandana, are you sure you're not about to play that banjo?
    Chives, china, teapots, Superior Thespian trophy, a gorgeous living room, Pancake guarding the laundry, trees, tacos - it's all good. Talking Heads references are even better.
    I took a photo of a flower just like that scary bird of paradise one, it was in our Winter gardens here in Sheffield and I hadn't seen one before.
    Hope you'll soon be moving out in all directions, Connie! xxx
So happy that you are feeling good and looking adorable in your overalls and getting settled in with all your treasures. (I too have a pair from high school) that I don't imagine I will give up. *HEHEH* I was wearing overalls on the night before my wedding at the rehearsal. They will forever be documented in my wedding video. *lol*
