Think Pink

ELOISE!!!!
The Azaleas are in Bloom!!!
Ooooohhh...Aaaahhhhh....
You know, I always say that I don't like Pink but when I decided to buy myself a New Dress for my Birthday I chose a Pink Dress!
dress ~ Garnet Hill
faux leather belt ~ from some long forgotten shop
vintage sensible shoes ~ Hush Puppies
What??? Is it an Older Lady Thing??
I don't own any other pink clothing. Just this.
Hmmmm....what else do I have that's Pink???
Oh Yeah. My Fitness Ball.
What's that you say Ball? You want to Play???
OK. I still not bouncing around at 100% but I can do This.
And This.
Have you ever seen this film?
Oh You Really MUST. It's So Good!!!!
Watch HERE for a fun clip from the movie.
a bit o' trivia: the woman singing Think Pink in this clip is Kay Thompson who wrote the Eloise series.
I Love Love Love Eloise, Don't You?

This entire post was inspired by Anne M Bray's 52 Pick-Me-Up: IN THE PINK?

  2. You make the azaleas shrink in shame as dazzling as you are in this PINK! I love you in pink. In this dress. And with a ball. Your sensible shoes are as stylish as they are smart. I'm glad we had this play date. I like how Ms. Hepburn has great heavy brows but they still look feminine. I always thought Fred Astaire was ill cast in this movie but I still like the movie, specially the cool beat parts.

    1. Yep. I agree about Fred. But the beatnik parts are soooooo great. Now that's some inspiration! Cool Daddy-O.

  9. I forgot to tell you that Funny Face is one of my favourite movies. Audrey was fantastic in that movie. I loved the dance moves in that movie.

  10. That dress is divine, and pink looks good on you! And you look good on the pink ball (I'm blushing to think about it). You certainly are in the pink, which is what you deserve for your birthday!

I haven't seen Funny Face, but you mentioned beatniks, so I must watch the clip at least. I'd love to be all beatnik-y - that's one of my style dreams.

  11. Lord, you're supple, doing all those movements with your big pink ball. Pink is fab on you, you need more of it! The azaleas are fabulous, i just love that colour. Yes, i've seen funny face, that's the one where she works in a book store, gets discovered as a model and then goes to paris isn't it? I seem to think the leading man doesn't fit though, what's his name, it's the dancer isn't it, Fred Astaire? Xxxx

  13. You outbeauty those Azaleas! Your dress is divine, I demand you buy and wear lots more pink 'cos you look glorious.
How flexible are you on your big, bouncy ball? You put an arthritic old crock like me to shame, thats for sure. I haven't seen that film, I have a shameful aversion to Audrey Hepburn, i think its because, being a "vintage blogger" I'm supposed to adore her...a friend sent me Breakfast At Tiffany's 3 years ago and I still haven't watched it..tut tut! xxx

  16. As much as you might have an aversion to pink, it does suit you so well, Connie, and I think you may have to add to your single pink dress with other items now the truth is out! Strong vibrants pinks are better than soft wishy-washy pastels, I reckon.
Look at you on your giant ball, hahaha! You've still got it, love!
Gorgeous azaleas; haven't seen Funny Face in years, but I remember the beautiful costumes. xxxx

  17. Happy Birthday Connie!!! Blush pink is the perfect colour for your birthday suit! You look adorable, and who doesn't want to coordinate with their fitness ball...much easier than being coordinated on their fitness ball! Love Funny Face...wish I could rock clothing the way Audrey does!

  18. Connie! How did I miss this! Super fun outfit! I totally subscribed to your blog but I got no notification of this post. Glad I stopped by to tell you that I nominated you for an award. Please don't feel obligated to do much with it except bask in the fact that you're super cool. I really just wanted to recognize my peeps, and I am honored to consider you one of them.

P.S. Your dress looks like the skirt I wore on Friday for Valentine's. Great minds... :)

  25. You look gorgeous in PINK and should do more of it, it isn't for old ladies, it is for everyone!!! Now beige and powder blue are for older ladies, but luckily both you and I are not old enough to be even considered as older ladies. Old is at least 20 years more than your current age you know!!! So we can wear what ever colour we wish because we will never be old!! My exercise ball is purple and it has forgotten my name, that is how long it has been since it has seen me!!

  36. Is that not the best pink frock I've clapped eyes on in ages? I think so! It's a bit of pink perfection and you look fab in it. I'm not a great one for pink either but it doesn't half cheer me up when I wear it.
    Happy birthday!
