ELOISE!!!! |
The Azaleas are in Bloom!!!
Ooooohhh...Aaaahhhhh....
You know, I always say that I don't like Pink but when I decided to buy myself a New Dress for my Birthday I chose a Pink Dress!
dress ~ Garnet Hill faux leather belt ~ from some long forgotten shop vintage sensible shoes ~ Hush Puppies |
What??? Is it an Older Lady Thing??
I don't own any other pink clothing. Just this.
Hmmmm....what else do I have that's Pink???
Oh Yeah. My Fitness Ball.
What's that you say Ball? You want to Play???
OK. I still not bouncing around at 100% but I can do This.
And This.
Have you ever seen this film?
Oh You Really MUST. It's So Good!!!!
Watch HERE for a fun clip from the movie.
a bit o' trivia: the woman singing Think Pink in this clip is Kay Thompson who wrote the Eloise series.
I Love Love Love Eloise, Don't You?
This entire post was inspired by Anne M Bray's 52 Pick-Me-Up: IN THE PINK?

The Pink Ball! Hahahahahaha. You are a hoot! Thanks for liking!
ReplyDeleteToujours!!
DeleteYou make the azaleas shrink in shame as dazzling as you are in this PINK! I love you in pink. In this dress. And with a ball. Your sensible shoes are as stylish as they are smart. I'm glad we had this play date. I like how Ms. Hepburn has great heavy brows but they still look feminine. I always thought Fred Astaire was ill cast in this movie but I still like the movie, specially the cool beat parts.
ReplyDeleteYep. I agree about Fred. But the beatnik parts are soooooo great. Now that's some inspiration! Cool Daddy-O.
DeleteAn interesting post that I enjoyed reading. The pink dress is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
Thank you, Andrew.
DeleteWell I think you should go buy some more pink ... STAT ... you look fab in it.
ReplyDeleteLOL ... look at you and your risqué posing on the pink ball ...it's cover girl quality ... it really is :0)
xx
Yeah. My freckled man legs are soooo attractive. You'd look very pretty in Pink!
DeleteFunny Face is one of my favorites. Think Pink! My daughter keeps pushing it on me. Fabulous on Silver Foxes!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is the one that talked me into this dress!
ReplyDeleteYou are wonderful in pink! what a gorgeous dress and I have never seen such an elegant recline on a fitness ball! I hope you had a fabulous birthday x x x
ReplyDeleteYes. I am all about elegance.
DeleteI love your dress, looks fabulous on you. Is it your Birthday? If so, Happy Birthday! Happy Valentine's Day to you too.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to tell you that Funny Face is one of my favourite movies. Audrey was fantastic in that movie. I loved the dance moves in that movie.
ReplyDeleteThey just don't make movies like that any more.
DeleteThat dress is divine, and pink looks good on you! And you look good on the pink ball (I'm blushing to think about it). You certainly are in the pink, which is what you deserve for your birthday!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Funny Face, but you mentioned beatniks, so I must watch the clip at least. I'd love to be all beatnik-y - that's one of my style dreams.
Hmmmm...I guess I'm the only one that is hooked on AMC.
DeleteLord, you're supple, doing all those movements with your big pink ball. Pink is fab on you, you need more of it! The azaleas are fabulous, i just love that colour. Yes, i've seen funny face, that's the one where she works in a book store, gets discovered as a model and then goes to paris isn't it? I seem to think the leading man doesn't fit though, what's his name, it's the dancer isn't it, Fred Astaire? Xxxx
ReplyDeleteYeah, Fred was a bit of an older creeper in this film.
DeleteI'm such a doofus, ignore me. There it is on the poster!!!!!! :) xxxx
ReplyDeleteYou outbeauty those Azaleas! Your dress is divine, I demand you buy and wear lots more pink 'cos you look glorious.
ReplyDeleteHow flexible are you on your big, bouncy ball? You put an arthritic old crock like me to shame, thats for sure. I haven't seen that film, I have a shameful aversion to Audrey Hepburn, i think its because, being a "vintage blogger" I'm supposed to adore her...a friend sent me Breakfast At Tiffany's 3 years ago and I still haven't watched it..tut tut! xxx
I can goof on the ball but I still have difficulty walking. Maybe I should just bounce everywhere.
DeleteI haven't seen funny face, gotta check that out ;D !! Love the outfit.
ReplyDeleteFunny Face is a fun film if you like vintage fashion.
DeleteI see pink and I like it :) Your birthday is the 10th?? Mine as weel!! Hope you had an amazing party :)

I hope you did, too.
DeleteAs much as you might have an aversion to pink, it does suit you so well, Connie, and I think you may have to add to your single pink dress with other items now the truth is out! Strong vibrants pinks are better than soft wishy-washy pastels, I reckon.
ReplyDeleteLook at you on your giant ball, hahaha! You've still got it, love!
Gorgeous azaleas; haven't seen Funny Face in years, but I remember the beautiful costumes. xxxx
I really feel it was my pinky pink complexion that kept me away from pink but now that I'm grey......
DeleteHappy Birthday Connie!!! Blush pink is the perfect colour for your birthday suit! You look adorable, and who doesn't want to coordinate with their fitness ball...much easier than being coordinated on their fitness ball! Love Funny Face...wish I could rock clothing the way Audrey does!
ReplyDeleteDon't we all.
DeleteConnie! How did I miss this! Super fun outfit! I totally subscribed to your blog but I got no notification of this post. Glad I stopped by to tell you that I nominated you for an award. Please don't feel obligated to do much with it except bask in the fact that you're super cool. I really just wanted to recognize my peeps, and I am honored to consider you one of them.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your dress looks like the skirt I wore on Friday for Valentine's. Great minds... :)
Yeah, I noticed the similarity. We are both quite brilliant!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday (belated or early?). Either way, I hope it was/is a wonderful day. And you are so cute, especially in pink. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda. Next year I'm going to hire you to bake my birthday cake!
DeleteYou look absolutely Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteComing from you that is quite a compliment.
DeleteOK, seriously- Every time I've come to your blog it shows that it hasn't been updated in months. Now all of a sudden there are tons of posts here that I've missed! What the heck?!?!
ReplyDeleteI'm following you on Bloglovin now, so I won't miss any posts. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI adore you in pink, well in any colour, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ouh! I love your posts always! Pink one of my fav colors and no pink is not for old ladies!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous of our beautiful flowers blooming!
The pics with the ball are hilarious!
You look so good Connie, wear more pink please!
Arianexo
You look gorgeous in PINK and should do more of it, it isn't for old ladies, it is for everyone!!! Now beige and powder blue are for older ladies, but luckily both you and I are not old enough to be even considered as older ladies. Old is at least 20 years more than your current age you know!!! So we can wear what ever colour we wish because we will never be old!! My exercise ball is purple and it has forgotten my name, that is how long it has been since it has seen me!!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! Nice post and style you have!
ReplyDeleteI never noticed all those things you say in your comment, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteYou have me in tears of joy, my GORGEOUS Connie.

I have not seen funny face, but I'd like to! That pink dress is lovely!
ReplyDeleteGREAT post, Connie! Happy belated birthday! Not an old-lady pink dress at all! Quite dramatic and so pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteLoved and still love "Funny Face" ... not just Audrey but Astaire at his sophisticated best!
And you do sort of resemble a grown up Eloise!
Jan! You're the only one that got theEloise connection!
DeleteIs that not the best pink frock I've clapped eyes on in ages? I think so! It's a bit of pink perfection and you look fab in it. I'm not a great one for pink either but it doesn't half cheer me up when I wear it.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
XX

You look fabulous in your pink dress! I love the colour and your poses with the pink fitness ball. You look adorable. Your pink toenail polish looks pretty too. To me it's a younger lady thing - you're much younger than I and look very pretty in pink.

This is the cutest post I've seen in awhile. Not saccharine cute, but genuinely adorable and funny. The fitness ball is a great prop. But more than that, I love the dress on you. You shine. XXOO
ReplyDeleteThank you soooooooooo much, my dear Connie I am pleased if you like it more than Coco Chanel.
ReplyDeleteYou are more true to me an more real.
