Pamplemousse. The French word for Grapefruit.
I just love that word. And Now I Have Reason To Love It Even More. Here's Why:
I just love that word. And Now I Have Reason To Love It Even More. Here's Why:
It Smells like Teen Spirit.
No actually it Smells just like GRAPEFRUIT.
I recently read that if you Smell Like Grapefuit, you will be perceived as younger than you are.
You can read about it HERE.
Since I am not really a Plastic Surgery Type of Girl I say,
"Sign Me Up for Grapefruit!!!!!"
Mistral ~~ fresh |
I sniffed a lot of Grapefruity scents until I finally narrowed it down to these two.
I am quite convinced that I Smell quite Young and Fruity.
I haven't done any proper research but I am proud to say that I haven't been offered a senior citizen discount in Weeks!
And in the process of all this Citrus smelling I have become quite enamored of that Pinky Grapefruit Color!
So when I finally decided to Buy My First Pair Of NEW SHOES In Almost THREE YEARS I didn't go for a pair of fancy Manolos. Nope. I bought some Pink Grapefruit colored Vans.
This smell business must be working on ME because this Style of Shoes is quite Young. I was By Far the Oldest Person in the Vans store....but my SMELL didn't give me away!
So...
What Do YOU Smell Like?????
Linking up with Patti and her fancy pants party for Visible Monday |
There used to be a trendy range of womenswear back in the 1980s called Pamplemousse. I used to love it.
ReplyDeleteFab footwear and gorgeous you. xxx
Really? I'd love a piece of Pamplemoussewear.
DeletePerfect color !
ReplyDeleteOh erno.......
Deletelooking gorgeous there Missus and I like your outfit and your delectable Vans, good enough to eat! probably not good for you though! your brooch is fab too! and I like the word pamplemousse too, sounds like a cuddly toy - I've just eaten a homemade burger so I suspect I don't smell very nice at the moment haha!! I should spray myself in your lovely smellies (perfumes) immediately x x x
ReplyDeleteHomemade burger is a completely lovely smell. Just ask my dog, Pancake. He's a smell expert and he LOVES homemade burger.
DeleteHello Connie, although grapefruit is not my favourite, I adore the colour coral and also the smell. I like citrus smell in food, perfume and even in shampoo for my hair. For sure it smells fresh. Now I know it will keep us younger too. Your Vans look great! You look so cool! Take care,Pamela
ReplyDeleteI used to like to wear strawberry flavored cologne when I was in high school. I smelled like Jello!
DeleteLOL ... love this and love your Vans. So if we eat the grapefruit will we actually GET younger?
ReplyDeletexx
Well maybe not but if you eat enough, your face will pucker up like a little baby face.
DeleteWell, Miss Young and Fruity, you look cute as a button in this rig out. I smell of 4711. My mother always bought me big bottles of the cologne and I am just coming to the end of the last one from her. I have it by my bedside and splash it on once I'm tucked up, as does Himself (who says that he'll buy a replacement bottle when this one is empty.)
ReplyDeleteOh 4711. I love that one. It always reminds me of chic European women with gorgeous shoes and shiny hair. Is that you?
Deletelove!!!

DeleteAt the moment I smell of Aromatics Elixir !!!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm
DeleteLOVE
ReplyDeleteLove ya back!
DeleteOoh, I think I can smell the pamplemousse from here, Connie! Yes, you have the aroma of a fresh young thing, and the footwear to match, so that's good, isn't it?! And you look completely lovely, of course.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I smell of right now? Garlic and desperation, probably. Sexy... xxxxx
Oh Curtise. You ARE sexy.
DeleteGarlic, desperation, cats, Red Door, and cigarettes. Damn, Gina, I'm inspired! I'm gonna comb Bath & Body Works for some grapefruit lotion. And I am crushing on those Vans...
ReplyDeleteRed Door. Wow. Who's Gina? Are you cheating on me?
DeleteSince I'm totally out of my favorite Amarige and also my alternate Burberry Brit, and my Donna Karan Gold is running low, I'm shopping around for something new! I'm loving the fragrance of my new hair products by Deva, however. Otherwise it's garlic (clearly a winner in our circles) and onions. I'm pre-cooking for Thanksgiving. I have 12+ to feed. Hope your week will be fun. It should be. Pamplemousse is a winner. XXOO
ReplyDeleteOh yes. All of America smells like onions and celery at this point in time, don't we?
DeleteLove this post.
ReplyDeleteSo many interesting and new things I've learned about grapefruit.
I also want to be younger
even just in my scent.

Keep doing what you're doing. I like you just the way you are.
Deletebeautifl blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks fo stopping by.
DeleteWish I had smellivision, or whatever the blog equivalent is. I love the fresh zingy smell of pamplemousse (or grapefruit as I normally know it). You look cute as a button in your smock and vans, you certainly don't look old, and it's good to know you don't smell it either. I hate to say it, but I think I might smell of greasy hair at the moment. Don't tell anyone, shhhh. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteWouldn't smell vision be fun? I bet we'll have it some day....I hope!
DeleteYou are too cute! I love the grapefruit color palate you put together especially that beautiful pin!
ReplyDeleteI just remembered that you like this color, too. Isn't that a pretty pin? She had lovely jewelry my mother-in-law.
DeleteI smell like the rain landing on a rose bush on a hot day, hopefully one that hasn't been recently mulched with fresh manure.
ReplyDeleteI love the word pamplemousse too! In fact, I was using that word when I bought some grapefruit a couple of weeks ago. I also like choufleur, but I don't want to smell like that. I think you're on to something big with smelling like citrus fruits and then incorporating their color. I love all those shots of that pretty pinky not quite orange, and your Van's are full of juicy goodness!
I thought you had a tattoo, but it was your band-aid - in a complementary color - perfection!
No. I'm not the tattoo type. My skin as enough going on as it is!
DeleteAND you have that fabulous painting, which I've seen a few times. It was in a museum about 30 miles from where I lived in England. I love that sumptuous fantasy stuff!
ReplyDeleteWow. You've seen the original? It must be quite something!
Deleteooh, I didn't know about the grapefruit smell. Must put that on my wishlist! I currently smell of Miss Coco by Chanel. I never buy perfume for myself, but my stepfather always gives me nice scents for my birthday!
ReplyDeleteThat pin is adorable and so are you!
Gosh thanks. What a nice stepfather. My husband buys me Chanel No. 5. He thinks I'm Marilyn Monroe. HA!!!
Deleteright now I smell like lemongrass soap, only because it was on sale for $4 for a massive bottle that will keep us clean for months - but I'm a fan of bakery type smells. Anything vanilla, pastries, sugary.... my perfume this season is a pumpkin spice body spray. So yummy!! Love those cute shoes and your cute cute face!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh... Freshly baked bread. That's a good one!
DeleteHow I would love to hop on a plane and come to you. I would give you an enormous hug, ahhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeletePerphaps one day, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
We are signing the sale of the house tomorroq and the buying in Málaga of the new one, ahhhhhhhhhh
I get seaty palms just to think about it.
Much, much love
It's scary buying a house but you will make it fabulous. I just know you will!
DeleteLove your vans! <3
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you.
DeleteOh Connie, we are sisters in smell or SIS for short, ha! I love the smell of grapefruit (I have a bottle of grapefruit oil next to my desk that I rub on each morning) and there is nothing like pink grapefruits squeezed over ice (so refreshing)! Love your post.
ReplyDeleteHey SIS!!!
Delete
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post my dear! Congratulations on the new shoes! You are looking the picture of beautiful vitality!
Wishing you and yours, a wonderful Thanksgiving!
The same to you <3
DeleteDon't you look pamplemousse lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of pamplemousse, but the only thing i found was pamplemousse dishsoap!
I must find a pamplemousse eau de parfum!
Ah! i love the big pics, it makes such a difference Connie and plus we can see your adorable self better!
The Vans sneakers are just so perfect - Tu as l'air d'une jeune fille qui a mangé beaucoup de pamplemousses, hahaha!
I have found Weleda products at my local bio shop plus they had more bio cosmetics -
I ordered some samples of a company called Vapour - I will do a review when i get them
And about your flip flops, i had so much of winter torture, cold and what not that i would trade places with you anytime!
But i know what you mean:)
Take care
Arianexo
Tu es adorable, Ariane.
DeleteI want to smell like grapefruit too!
ReplyDeleteAnd so you shall....
DeleteYou are such a cutie pie! Grapefruit is very refreshing and energizing. Good for you for buying these sweet grapefruit colored vans, they look stylish and comfy! Ciao Pamplemousse
ReplyDeleteGrazie Caramella;-)
ReplyDeleteI love Vans! And especially pink grapefruit. Keep rocking, Connie, you are fab. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteVans are so classically American. They used to be made here in California. I was bummed to find out that they're now made on Vietnam. Hope hope hope they pay the workers a loving wage.
DeleteAhhhhh you've cracked the anti-ageing code Connie!! It's grapefruit and Vans! You are so gorgeous, I absolutely ADORE your new sneakers and I can tell by that wry smile you smell lovely too:) xoxo
ReplyDeleteYep! I'm smelling up a storm! Thank you so much for stopping by xxxxxooooo
DeleteGaaa, I'm missing my Connie Snow feed, that direct blog IV (eye vee). How did I miss this? And the next? Pomplemoose, divine. I think that must be true. I want to smell like cucumbers. They make me feel springy. There must be something psychological about want to smell like that vegetable, no idea what. You look FAAAABULOUS. Your Vans must kick ahss. I'm glad you've been inoculated.
