I am just Crazy about Ballet Themed Things. I rarely buy them because if I do that will give my husband permission to fill the house with baseball themed things. No f&#%ing way THAT is going to happen! So I just browse. Here are a few shots from a little shopping trip last Spring:
The only thing I actually purchased was
this Beautiful Ballerina Fabric. I Swooned!
I love it so much that even though I've had it for a long time, I just can't decide what to make with it. I'm afraid I'll screw it up. Any suggestions?

Hi Connie, those are beautiful items. The Ballet paintings are lovely. As for your Ballet fabric, my suggestion is to turn them into pillow cases. That way you can place them in your sofa, chair, and even your bed for your own viewing. Take care, Pamela.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. Pamela, you always have such good taste!
DeleteOh, lovely. I blame Degas! How about making lots of lovely little lavender bags to hang on your coat hangers?
ReplyDeleteNow Thar's an idea. I should have a lavender crop in a few months. Oh that Degas!
ReplyDeleteCould you make a scarf? The fabric reminds me of some wrapping paper I got as a child - it had ballerinas all over it. I kept the paper for a long time, and I think I cut out some of the ballerina like paper dolls.
ReplyDeleteYou need a ballerina closet where you can keep ballerina things. Your husband could have a baseball closet somewhere - maybe in the garage, or the attic!
Oh a scarf would be pretty. Didn't you just LOVE paper dolls?
DeleteWhat gorgeous ballet bits! Love that tutu and the case full of patterns. That fabric is stunning, how about a tote bag to carry your thrifted finds home in when you're back to full form. xxx
ReplyDeleteAhhhh..a tote bag!!!
DeleteI love, love ballerinas!
ReplyDeleteYes Vix is right a tote bag!
Two votes for tote bag.
DeleteSo many beautiful photos of lovely things, Connie, and the dancers are adorable.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is stunning. Just wrap yourself in it and sway elegantly. Is there enough to make a circle skirt so you can put a pouffy tulle petticoat underneath and play ballerinas? xxxxx
You know, I thought about maybe a ballerina esque skirt. Hmmmm...wonder if I can pull off the look....
DeleteYes you can!
ReplyDeleteWell, if you say so....
DeleteSo pretty! I just watched a documentary about ballet (First positions) which was really impressive.
ReplyDeleteI saw that documentary. Wasn't it interesting?
DeleteLove tu-tu's!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple back during the trend! will be wearing em again when i lose a bit of this weight i gained.

So sweet. Don't hold your breath, tho.
DeleteSo many gorgeous photos. And the fabric you have is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI want to go thrift shopping RIGHT NOW... but I suppose I have to wait until tomorrow as it's snowing and I do not have a vehicle. *lol* SNOWING IN MARCH!!! *UHGGG*
Yea yeah. I can't drive right now either. It's a crummy situation.
DeleteThe fabric is gorgeous. What will you do with it? I'm dying to find out.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think maybe a big summer dress.....
DeleteI'm swooning over the ballerina fabric, too!!! I love stuff like this, especially tutu's! I think this goes back to my mom not letting me run around in one when I was little (I had a white sparkly tutu that I thought was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen... My mom had other ideas :( )
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could make a skirt or button down blouse with the fabric?
OK. Two votes for a skirt. Don't think I could handle the button down. I've never been much good at making button holes. Snaps maybe...but that is rather unballet-like.
DeleteI think the ballet fabric would make pretty pillowcases.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about ballet and tutus that is so pretty.
Hmmmm..two votes for pillow cases.
DeleteThere truly is something so romantically evocative about tutus isn't there. A beautiful roundup to be sure. Like everyone else, I can't wait to see what you decide with that sweet fabric! Hope your feeling better these days my dear!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tamera :-)
ReplyDeleteI would make a skirt, but you know me and skirts, lol
ReplyDeletehave a fabulous weekend, dear friend.

DeleteI love ballet themed things too! I probably don't NEED tutus but I sure do love having them!

Deleteballet curtains perhaps??? very cute!!
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm...
DeleteOh, a skirt! A big, full tea-length skirt. Just thinking about it makes me want to wear it. Congratulations on your new house, and THANK YOU for visiting me.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a skirt for sure. Stay tuned.
DeleteThank you :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a skirt as well. I second that vote. I still live ballet things too. I'd love to own a long tulle skirt-- gray, and wear it with a creamy white or pink mohair sweater.
ReplyDeleteKeri
Oops *love ballet things..
DeleteMy heart just skipped a beat with this post. So much gorgeousness to look at!!! I'd make a summer skirt with that dress, definitely!
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with tutu style skirts and would love to wear them more often!
Hope you are well my dear! Just stopping by to say I was thinking of you! Did your children visit for spring break? Mine did... and I realized how very comfortable I have become with their absence :)
